Waterpump Replacment problems
Waterpump Replacment problems
Hey guys, i doing my water pump right now but ive run into several problems. I was using the FC3s.org writeup and then later noticed after all my problems started that it was wiritten up on an NA engine. I had to cut the turbo coolant line thinking that would work. Now the end of the waterpump Housing is hitting my OMP lines which is keeping it from sliding off. Do i really have to take off my OMP to do all this? so far i feel that ive more work than i should of, id appreciate any feedback. thanks -alex
i have 2 more questions. I found that one wires that goes into one of the 2 connectors that connect to the waterpump houseing was stripped off. It was the one with the single wire going to it. What does this do? is it important? 2nd question. my rebuild kit came with a rubber o-ring. is this for the waterpump outlet nozzle by chance? thanks -alex
I just changed my waterpump and didnt have to remove the OMP lines. Here is how I did it:
When you remove all of the bolts and nuts that holds the housing onto the motor, take 2 of the 10mm nuts and thread them onto one of the studs. tighten them against each other and then back out the stud. Do this on each stud so that when all of the studs are pulled out, you can just lift the housing instead of having to slide it out (which the OMP lines prevent you from doing). Takes an extra 5 minutes, but it makes life easier.
That o-ring you are referring to is for the thermostat.
Good luck!
