water thermo sensor connector

i might be dropping in a new engine into a new chassis pretty soon, but something i noticed is the water thermo snsor connector was broken off, harness and sensor. the wire connected to the harness and sensor is no longer connected. i was wondernig who would i fix this? can i strip the insulation and reconnect the wires and shrink wrap them? or do i even need one? and what does this sensor do? measures water temps?

Yes, you NEED that sensor. It tells the ECU what your water temp is.

Strip the wires, re-wrap and reconnect should fix it. IIRC its a resistor, so you can hook it up either way.

The thermo sensor is the same as an injector clip.
You should buy new ones and replace them as well as the injectors and BAC clip. They're cheap .
