Water Temp sensor?

Well after driving my car for a few hours, I found out 2 things.

1. I need to remove the whole UIM and put a better hose clamp on the coolant line down there.

2. My water temp is reading LOW. I mean WAY low.
Just over 3/8ths on the guage. Now I have only owned an NA which kept it 1/2 atleast- Even when I pushed it- it dint change.

However I think I still have some bubbles in the system- and the sensor worked fine before- So could these be the culprat?

Oh yeah. A turbo is hella more fun then na .

Uh oh - another member seduced by the DARK SIDE..

I'd keep an eye on it as the air purges from the cooling system.

Now you can update you profile & sig..

You can use some RTV on the corroded fitting on the block (black or red) before you put the hose back on- that'll fix any leaks due to our pipes/ nipples not being as pretty as they once were. The only downside is the hose will play hell coming back off...But it won't leak anymore!

BTW those old spring clamps are not worth reusing.

Anytime you pull a stock fuel or water hose, you want to put screw clamps on.

I drilled and tapped that fitting on the block. Does anyone know if putting a say a 1" bolt in that hole is too long? would it block coolant flow? I can't remember what that spot in the iron looked like and if the passage was open or not. Just one of those...."oh I wonder...hmmm" things.

I used a new peice of 3/8 heater hose and screw clamps- BUT its hard as hell to get in there to secure it low enough to the block.
