Probably blown coolant seals in the engine, not the water pump.

Either that or you used a crappy aftermarket thermostat and its jammed up and in backwards

Is the water pump leaking at all? Thats usually a pretty good sign that it might be on it's way out. Icemark is right though. If you just bought a thermostat at your local parts store, that could potentially be the problem, too. Try to get one directly from Mazda if you can.

Does it overfill after you shutoff the engine? If so, it could just be your radiator cap.
