water injectin?

my friend said..where the 3 vacuum hoses are on the manifold (86-88), he took the top one off..the bigger one and put a seperate hose that the other end ran to a water bottle and just reved it and then when the water was empty de-reved it slowly. he said that it seemed to help his engine out but doesnt sound safe? what do you guys think.

well there is somthing to be said for water/alchoal injection. the dsm guys do that a fair amount. but ive never heard aobut it for a rotary. but, i certanitly wouldnt be using any of those vaccume hoses. a correct water injection system wouuld have to be made. just so taht you know, that top vaccume hose goes to the oil injection system. with out that vaccume hose being hooked up his car will be getting a lot more oil than is needed.

a few members of this board run water/alcohol injection, the thing you are refering to is a substitue for the ATF trick according to some people i dunno if it works or not though
