water in ftp lense

my ftp lenses is in mint shape. i do however have water in my passengers one. I pulled it off and found it to be free of cracks and such. except i noticed that it has a rubber nipple on it that allows water to come in.

should i plug it up or what? what do you guys do? keep in mind it is in great shape. thanks!

I thought the nipple was there in order to prevent water from collecting/staying in there. The only way to completely get rid of it would be to seal it and suck out all the air(however you might want to attempt to do that, I don't know )

i drilled some extra holes in mine to let any water that gets in there evaporate easier. seems to work fairly well.

if you seal air in there, then there will still be moisture in it. at the right temps they will still fog inside unless you vacuum seal them. kinda like how you have to vac pump your ac or the moisture in the air rusts it from the inside out when it condenses...except the ftp's wont rust :p

i took the rubber nipple off to reveal a pink mesh screen. what is its purpose? it doesn't seem transparent.
