water behind seats

water behind seats

I have an 88' vert and during the raining seasons I find a large puddle of water behind the passenger seat. and somtimes behind the drivers. anyone know the cause?

looked at the bottom on your could?? i have seen it on mx5's.. could be the same cause on the vert 7's?

The top on the sides where it folds into body have pockets to catch the water,with a drain tube through floor pan. That could be stopped up. Weed eater cord works pretty good to clear it out. You also have 20 year old rubber seals that may need attention

I've had clogged drain tubes before. VERY easy to fix. Also, the last time I was getting water in the floor of my vert withought being able to actually see it, I found that the rubber part of the "outer door window seal" was dry rotted and was no longer touching the window so water was going right down the window, past the seal, to the inside bottom of the door and streaming inside at the bottom of the door.

Also, pull your carpet and pull all of the little rubber stoppers out of the lowest parts of the floor so that the water can drain.
