Question It wasn't the front Diff Mount- Next?

So I posted about my 88' manual N/A GXL lurching when in gear and taking my foot of the gas/begin deceleration.

The suggestion was to check the front differential mount.

Much sweating later, I removed it to find it's in great shape. And my "competition" version from mazdatrix is en route.

So since the front diff mount was fine, what is my next likelyhood to cause the lurching?

It definitely feels mechanical. The clutch seems fine, however, and it is smooth as long as I'm accelerating.

Thanks for any help,
steve

That site. One of the two rear camber links (their term for control link) or the rear sub link has it's bolt loose. They like to call it a rear camber adjuster. No adjustment on the stock one. Both items shown on the bottom of that page. Damned jerkoffs can't stick with one name for a item. Call it three different things and before you know it nobody knows what the heck is being talked about.

Or all the other things mentioned on this thread.

Rear diff mounts feel fine, I stupidly took them off when starting to lower the subframe, cleaned them up and put them back on.
I'll ck the u-joints once I figure out what they are.

Thanks Hailers, I'm gonna go check out the rear camber links and the rear sublink.

"Lurching" is:
the car suddenly yanks slower when
1. in gear, clutch pedal untouched, and
2. foot comes off the gas and car has started to slow down.

When I put the gas back on, the car snaps right into smooth acceleration.

Thanks all, update after checking the bolts listed comes tomorrow.

Too much freeplay in the driveline, my car does this too. I have 180k on engine/trans mounts so i'm assuming it's those, I have non installed bonzai mounts, also im thinking maybe the rear diff mounts may be worn.

Perhaps We should try taking our hoods off while driving to see if it's the engine moving or just the rear end?
