Warning lights @ 8000RPM

I have a 91 NA. When I wind out to redline in 1st and 2nd, all the warning lights come on at the same time. When I shift, they go out. Is this normal for an S5?

Also, my car came with cruise control, but the switch was missing when I purchased it. I've done a search and I just want to be sure: Will the S4 Cruise Control switch (I know everything else is incommpatible) work on an S5?

Thanks!

Todd

Sounds like the alt is failing, or the belts are slipping

my car used to do that with the headlights, stereo and heater on. after I added another ground from the battery to chasis. and a new pos. wire from battery to alt. it went away.

If you have an old Porsche 911, you should be familiar with slipping belts and generator lights. I would go with Icemark on this one.

i ahd the same issue with my belts slipping and then the lights just got on soon in the shift range until the car just stopped. due to a dead battery...

Check those belts .
