Wants to slip out of 3rd gear @ deceleration?

I just got finished rebuilding my tranny and Installing a act clutch and I have the weirdest thing happening @ 3rd. As I decelerate without pushing in the clutch, the shifter tries to pop out of gear. If I push on the gas again, the shifter goes back to normal, but it's harder to take out of gear normally.

Shift fork was good.
All the hubs, hub sleeves and gears looked good. I replaced the worn and broken bubs and sleeves.
All the transmission and engine mounts are good.

Does it sound like a shifter ball and spring assembly problem, or is it something else I missed?

Lars

It could be. I swear I stared at that thing for an hour, playing with all the gears, making sure it worked right before buttoning it up. Maybe I missed somthing.

check

It could be the shift fork is out of round, or your shift linkage is out of adjustment..
under deleceration the wheels want to turn the transmission and the shift fork could binding on the shift rail...
just my 2 cents
good luck

Sounds like you're on to somthing. I'll give that some more research before I tear the tranny apart again.
Thanks,
Lars
