wanted: parts list for 5th & 6th port cleaning
Hi,
I have a 1990 GXL
I have to get to my 5th and 6th port sleeves to clean them up, and I want to know what parts can not be reused once you take them off. manifold gaskets are the only thing that I can think of, but is there anything else?
the car is my daily driver, so I'd like to get everything I will need before I start the work.
also, what's a good cleaner to use to get these port sleeves freed up?
thanks

I just covered them in PB blaster, let it sit for alwhile, whiggled them around a bit, and then sprayed on more PB blaster, let them sit etc...
After doing it about 3 times on each port, I could move the rods with my hand, and the ports worked great.
I'd try that before pulling your whole LIM.

I didn't take anything off, just sprayed it around the outside by where the actuators pull them open, then worked it back and forth with a flat head screwdriver.
BTW, this was on my GSL-SE (should be the same)
