first of all the original post stated clearly(i thought) that im keeping this as a DD but want more power. I am eventually getting a turbo car or even an FD for a weekend/project car. As far as intake i didnt get the cone mod. I did the drop-in filter for the stock air box after i searched on the matter. As far as the car i think that header will be the extent of it for now and when it needs rebuilt either a half bridge or a large Street port.
you still are not getting it bro
1- you cant bridgeport your stock n/a because you dont have atleast soe type of ems- engine management system- to support the change of air/fuel ratio that will be going in to the motor
2- your fuel system will have to change you will need larger secondaries for a bridgport
3- you want to daily this car yet you want to port it but keep a stock drop in filter
4- you are getting another car so u can build a beast out why waste your time trying to beef up a n/a you are just beating yourself up
Dude either build a all out car or dont build one at all. Because if all you want is a little bit of power you are not going to achieve it by just intake and exhaust. Its gonna cost you thousands and in that matter you should of got a t2 and call it quits.
You will be 100 times happier with a t2 , personally i dont think you can handle a FD if you can barely handle a n/a . And starting to think u will run to a heap of trouble on a t2. But thats my opinion take it witha grain salt or agree with me. in the end its your car, your money, and your time.

Wow this thread lost all the good posts.
OP, if you really plan on porting your car, you're going to turn your daily into just as much of a project as your project car. You need to figure out and plan what you want to do.
El Nene, car is still sexy.

If you want some more power, I would remove all the stock manifolds and clean them, port the runners on all the manifolds, port the throttlebody, polish it.. Just do w/e it takes to have more flow.. Get headers, full exhaust[even a ebay one is fine] Its going to be loud for sure.. Theres like no way to keep a NA quiet and have power lol This way you can keep ur stock ecu and injectors..
Nothing, TTT, I know nothing at all about tuning N/A's on a bang for the buck basis......nothing at all. Control arm, anyone?
First of all, to take advantage of any (large) increase in airflow, get yourself an EMS. Even with a streetport, having a programmable fuel and ignition computer will let you take full advantage of any mod.
Let's put it this way, I make more power on a stock port than a bunch of other people on the forum with a streetport, with just intake, exhaust and computer. The key is tuning, but, it does get loud, and IMHO, not very civil for daily driving. any further and it would only be worse.
If you want to bridge, you also need at least a custom intake manifold, new fuel injectors and a standalone. This is a couple grand we're talking about. You can bridge without this, but you won't realize much gains, and you'll be sacrificing engine longevity.

im not sure what El Nene means by "handle" but i will let you all know i used to have a 400 BHP Firebird. Ive also driven a few muscle cars and things like that. Hell i even scared the owner of a mustang in his own car. I know this is all going to be flamed cuz i dont have proof but think what you want. I know im going to need EMS to port it and i know im going to need more stuff than just a drop-in and exhaust if i port it. Thats is with any car. Just like a Piston car cam doesnt do much with out intake and exhaust and neither do heads. I found a few sites that i can import an fd from for under $10000(think RHD would be awesome too). The thing is im new to up close and personal rotary but im a quick learner and many are just too stubborn to believe this and then dont give advice. I was researching Rotary since this time last year and know a little bit about it. I started this thread to find out what mods are worth while while keeping in DD or semi DD.
PS Cars are to be heard before they are seen.

Can't register an imported FD legally in the US, at least I haven't seen it done here.
It's always done by paying off someone at the DMV, for a fake VIN.
Nene means, if you haven't experienced what happens when you mod an N/A, you're not ready for the FD, especially the financial aspect of it. Researching it is different than actually doing it.

If i were to get and FD or TII it would be a weekend driver/project. I understand parts for them are more then a N/A and that is why it is going to be a secondary car. If it doesnt get fixed as soon as its broke what does it matter. As far as my Vert i dont want to spend a ton of money to make it quicker. I just want to get a little more not trying to go massive like 200HP on it or something. As i said in another thread it keeps up with my saturn aura and the aura is damn quick from what everyone tells me. We have a test to see whos car is faster and we go from a red light to this bridge. I currently have the fastest time and highest speed in my fc and second in my saturn. Third is an Integra with a fully built prelude motor and a ton of other stuff.

newbs be gone
Alex's garage is free, maybe next weekend? I'm going to bust *** and hopefully get my car started this w/e if all the parts come in.
Secondly, Roen speaks the truth. Go do something

I think you'll be more at home in the interior/exterior talking about 12k HIDS than anything else

Well i can see this thread has become useless no wonder i couldnt find any info about it by search. Because apparently this is what happens the poster gets flamed and is then todl to buy a TII or leave the rotarty scene. And as far as going and doing something im in the process of changing my clutch. Just dropped the trans and all that just waiting for clutch to arrive.
Alright, well if you're looking for a parts list and your aim is to keep it a daily driver
1. Rtek7 http://www.digitaltuning.com
2. RB Catback http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=16420
3. RB Cat Replacement Pipe w/ Presilencer http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=16206 (If you're not planning any porting, which you shouldn't, since this is your DD.)
4. ACT Prolite Aluminum Flywheel (I hope your 6-puck is sprung, then again, I guess you really don't encounter NYC-type traffic jams) + S4 Automatic Counterweight.
5. This is unnecessary as this is your DD, but a 4.3 Ring and Pinion Gearset (I think Mazdatrix or Racing Beat sells this) will quicken your acceleration at a cost to your gas mileage. An LSD from an S4 GXL or GTU, or an aftermarket one like a KAAZ wouldn't be so bad after all.
6. Then you can start spending a whole lot of money on suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, etc....i.e. money pit status.
And that's about all you can really do with an N/A that will provide a good balance of power and noise suppression, which is perfect for the street. Any other questions?
You have to decide where and when to draw the line on what you want to spend and how much you what to spend on this DD.

That is the typical response from every person alive and me too before i drove one. The Saturn Aura is comparable to BMWs and other high end sports cars and that isnt me making BS if you want to think so. Ready the car and driver test of the car and find out.

I don't remember what my other posts were, but I love how Aaron Cake did NOT delete the part where I called that kid a bitch. LOL.
OP, I think the main point every one is trying to convey is simple; NA rotary gains are tough and come at a pretty high cost. A simple solution is to go turbo and keep it mild, for the sake of reliability. To boot, 400bhp in a Firebird and 400bhp in a 7 is a whole different game. Trust this, I've had both. Good luck at any rate.

I know the hp thing is different. The reason is difference in engine and a RX7 doesnt need 1000hp to be fast. They are damn fast at 400hp. Also thanks for not flaming just cuz you can. Like i have also said before im not looking to make a N/A beast just something a little faster than it is now. That is y i daid i would probably just finish it with a header for now

I only know one person who would ever race a BMW (other than an M model) either way you want to look at it. He is a complete douche bag.
