And the Wankel God said "Let there be 4 piston calipers"

Just happy as all hell that I finished the 5-lug conversion tonight.

I think there might be a little air in the lines b/c the pedal is a little squishy still. I will drive it tomorrow and see if it gets better through use. If not, I may have to find a donor brake booster.

4-piston calipers are beefy looking though!

I will have pics up of my newly finished GTU rims. Dark charcoal gray metallic. 10 coats on each rim and 4 coats of clear coat.

lol nice job? ile show you a nice job, anyone can operate a spraybomb! but it takes some skill to do it right, plus alot of gueswork finding out 40$ clear doesnt stick to polished aluminum!

Wheels after polish and custom colormatched painted insets!

Me putting on the color coat over 2 part epoxy primer!

lol took a long time but well worth the effort!

Yeah.....the reason I didn't leave them polished was b/c I didn't want to try and find the right color to paint the inserts.

Painting the rims (going on a red car w/ tinted windows and black trim) and the inserts was the easier option.

I will have pics tomorrow of the wheels on the car.

The 5 lug swap took about 3 hours. The main reason is the massive amount of rust on the nuts/bolts. Plus, I took my time and did everything right on the first try. I had all day Sunday to do it.

I don't think it was a Duplicolor paint though......it was bought at Wal-Mart. Dark Charcoal Grey. Like $3.xx in the automotive department. Used Aircraft Stripper to peel the old clear coat off. Spray on, wash off with the garden hose and a gasket scrapper.

Then paint coat after coat lightly. Lightly sand with a scotch pad and then wipe down with dewaxer/degreaser to remove the dust and any oily residue. Spray the clear coat on. Sit in sun in a non-breezy place to let the paint and clear bake on.
