waht is this?(exhaust)

Alright, so i picked up my 7 last night and have been trying to get a ride to the ******* store to buy a batt(grrr), but i tried jumping it last night and of course it didnt work. So Today i was taking pics and came across this:

So now I'm trying to figure out what it is.... It looks like the hose went to something, but i dono, i was thinking 02censer but i see no wires.... any clue what it is??

P.S. I think they might have upgraded the exhaust but i dono because of the large amout of rust on the pipes.. but the tips are deff new....

I am almost certain that is the split air pipe. In the s5 it runs fresh air to the main cat. In s4's it also supplies exhaust pressure to open the aux ports. If you have an s5 then don't worry about it, but if you have an s4, you need to figure out a way to open the aux ports.

It was the hose to the acv/airpump, the replacement cat didnt fit it.

So could i get a longer hose or new cat with mount? I know what you guys are saying but i got no clue how to actually deal with it. This wouldnt cause the car not to start would it? Just to run worse then it should? I got a few more ?'s too.... what do these go to?

they are in the engine bay!

Well, it depends on the model on if it hurts the performance. What year is your car?

yes, the tube is most definatly the split air pipe. if you're running a converter and have an airpump(very reccomended with a converter) this line should be connected. there is a metal tube that exits the side of the converter at a 90 degree angle and should connect to that pipe. i've seen rubber hose, but i do not reccomend it. the best thing to use is going to be metal tubing. you'll need to weld a 90 back onto the converter and connect that tube to the 90 for the split sir pipe to be working properly to cool the converter and help to clean up the emissions.

What diamater? lol. And i tired to follow that hose and it looked like it went into the firewall. is that correct or did i follow something else?

that tubing should run from the air pump as stated earlier and it looks crushed because it shoots air in your catalytic converter to reduce emissions

Yellow plug is the fuel pump jumper.. Green plug is the TPS light adjustment connector.
