WAHOOOOOOOEYYYYYY I get to put my t2 back together this weekend :D

Have had my t2 for a little over a month and started fixing my exhaust leak which I thought was going to be a weekend project. Haha
So I tried pulling the turbo, had to pull and bypass the ABS to get my turbo out.

On the way to removing my turbo I found out that the EGR makes it a bitch to remove the downpipe so I ordered a full blockoff plate kit from cymfc3s to block off my EGR, but now I have plates for whatever else I want to block off.
Then found a couple other exhaust leaks (flange at the connecting pipe to the main cat wasnt solid, and only had 3 nuts on my manifold to block). My exhaust leak I was after was blown to hell and back

Then I found some dried up cracking old vacuum lines and ordered some black hose techniques 3.5mm and 4mm to replace what I had access to.
Not to mention my brakes are squealing up front so today I got paid and am ordering some Porterfield R4-S street pads from Dana at Auto R&D for a good price. They're still expensive when discounted haha.
Had a tech at my work (nissan dealership) remove a stud I broke off and a nut i mangled and stripped hardcore and then cut with a hacksaw to remove.
And he clean up all of my threads and installed the stud. Apparently anything involving threads is what he enjoys because he is very good at it and is happy to do anything i even mention concerning threads. Great to have someone willing like that around to help.
Now this weekend I finally got my RB DP/PS ($60 shipped ) and am going to install my manifold tonight, and do the turbo and everything else tomorrow and sunday if needed. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I'll have my turbo II back!!!! I had to put her down for 2 weeks on account of waiting for parts.

And after that, I should get my porterfields early next week. Cut my rotors and put my pads on.
After that I am going to buy a Defi Boost D-Gauge with my next $100 and column mount it with a greddy boost gauge holder.
Then after that, I have to pass emissions, now that I finally have an airpump and bracket.
I already have a FD Fuel pump that a friend gave me for free. My car still needs the fuel pump rewire, custom grounding straps, and some new shifter bushings and redline tranny fluid. I'm going to do the diff fluid later on.
After that, make a TID from whatever e-bay junk I find suitable and hopefully grab a used FCON and put my presilencer on.
Hope I don't creep too much, maybe I'll just keep the maincat on for a while longer. I'm going to keep the stock catback for a while.
I really want suspension. Think I'm going with RS-R down springs and KYB AGXs.

Welp, just had to vent cause I'm so stoked that my car is going to be running again soon, and have 20lbs weight reduction from the ABS, another few pounds from the downpipe, and im gonna pull that rubber fuel pump thing. So maybe like 45lbs or so weight reduction, but I'm adding a airpump and bracket, but i may just yank it after emissions

Oh well, enough from me
-Ben Martin

P.S. thanks to tom93r1 for helping me pull my damned turbo.

http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...?threadid=8341 this is what i sorta followed but not really for pulling my turbo, but ill reiterate on what i did
had it up on jackstands, hood up, basic metric tools
pull the airbox and tid and cold side intercooler piping, and a couple hoses related to that
i had to then remove ABS,
i had no airpump so i didnt have to remove that but if you do remove that and the bracket
take off the acv, and try not to lose/takeoff the hoses, the shapes really help to foigure out where they go on the way back on
i think i then took off a bunch of heatsheilds which where a pain in the ***. some dont even come off until the turbos off.
then i took off the precat and that lil connecting pipe to the main cat
then drain the coolant and disconnect one side of the coolant feed line, and one side of drain line. then repeat w/ turbo feed and drain lines, you want to try to keep the lines still connected to one side since its already not leaking, why create a possible leak.
do the same w/ oil feed and return lines. these wont really leak out much, just need a papertowel, dont even drain the oil.
then unbolt the turbo, and take it off, youll have to move various pieces to get it off, you may figure this out, but dont be afraid to move coolant hoses around, and disconnect ac pipe brakcets and move them out of the way
i pulled the manifold and turbo together since i fucked up and stripped out a bolt on the turbo. so it was harder that way. i brought it through the top/front
then the manifold is cake, if you dont need to disconnect the manifold from the block, then just leave it on. but you're pulling your engine apart.
thats just for turbo removal, sorry
