Voltage problems

My 88 when it is cold seems to have this issue where it jumpes from 14 volts then pegs the needle. But when it does this all the warning lights kick on. and the blower motor goes from high to low and then it settles down when it warms up. Does anybody know what is causing this. I figured maybe volt regulator, ecu,or maybe a bad ground. Please let me know if anybody knows.

It could be a connection in the ECU, when it warms up it sits right or something. Sounds like your car is posessed!

Bring out the Multi Meter and check readings for the Battery before you start It. Than check voltage at Battery and Alternator at Idle. But before any of the above, besure to check all connections are clean and tight.
