Voltage drop on hard acceleration

I am wondering if anyone has heard of this happening. When I step on the gas HARD I get a temporary drop in system voltage. This only happens when I open up the throttle rapidly. If gradually increase the throttle, this does not occurr. In general, the charge system on the car seems to operate correctly. I would like to know what causes this.

Have you checked the tension on your alternator drive belt. If it's slipping, you will lose power!

That, or the alternator is going bad. I thought you had a turbo, cause that's happened to me before and when you step on the throttle the electronic wastegate just bogs down the whole system and results in a major drop if the alternator isn't good.
