voltage

The past month or so my car has been running on around 12-13 volts. I know its supposed to be at something like 14.2 or so, not quite sure. Is it bad for the car to be running lower than it should, and can anyone think of a reason for it? This is with no radio on, no headlights, nothing but the car itself is running. I just changed to a different battery and its the same. The alternator is working because the battery isnt draining. Any ideas?

Don't try to fix a problem that ain't there. Basically all the stock gauges are a little of at best. Mine said 12-13 too, and I never had a power related problem.

double check your voltage with a digital multi-meter.

but anything under 13.5 volts and the battery is not getting charged.

The stock voltage gauge is normally very accurate on these cars, as long as there is not corrosion on the screws on the back of that gauges.
