1987 Mazda Rx7 Base Model

is this normal, or is my T2 a base conversion? Doesn anyone have a link to vin decoding information?

 

It should come up as a turbo ii. Whered you get the vin? Off the firewall (not the dash)? Under the hood? On the door? Unless it was off the firewall, the part you got it off maybe has been replaced.

 

I matched the build plate (silver plate, on fire wall passenger side) with the stamp on the fire wall, and that is the vin I got back.

 

Yeah i did a car fax on mine and it said it was a 1987 Maxda RX-7 Turbo F.I, its a GXL.

 

I ma actually glad it comes up as a base, if it was a T2 con version, or not. If the vin comes back to a base, my insurance will be lower
