vibration over 6k (similar to other thread)
got new instrument cluster in and got all gauges working, BUT IVE FOUND SOMETHING VERY BAD.
without a tach i had no clue where my revs were, i noticed a slight imbalance at a certain rpm so i would shift before then..thinking it was around 7.5 or 8k...but no...it starts shaking at 6krpm. doesnt have to be in gear(shakes in neutral as well)
so now to figure out WHY. list of parts:
all from 1988 FC3S turbo!
FROM OLD CAR(didnt vibrate)
entire engine and rear counterweight
NEW in FC
fidenza flywheel
j-spec transmission
mystery 5 puck clutch disk
i used a lighter weight flywheel when it was in the 1st gen( a racing beat unit) and didnt have any problems of this sort.
this makes me think my counterweight is correct, so could the flywheel be imbalanced? clutch disk? something in the transmission? :dunno

Which counterweight did you use? You have to use the auto tranny counterweight from your series(S4 or S5, S4 in your case) when you install any lightweight flywheel. Also never heard of a 5 puck clutch. That might be your problem if your counterweight is right. Does it do it if you hold the clutch in in neutral?

current plan of action..drop trans and install stock T2 flywheel, stock pressure plate. but i'll have to order in a new clutch disk to make sure this one isnt the culprit.
if it goes away then i'll probably leave the car alone for a while and save up for a nicer flywheel like a racing beat unit.
if it DOESNT fix it ive got another transmission i can toss in.
