Vibration after clutch install...

Just replaced my clutch disk with an ACT sprung 4-puck...with the car in neutral or in gear, with the clutch pushed in or not, there's a vibration beginning at 6,000rpm....

everything else is perfect. the only other part replaced was the throwout bearing. same PP was used...i have no idea why it decided to start doing this :[

The pilot bearing could have been damaged during the re-install of the input shaft. It's one of the few parts that is active no matter what the clutch/transmission are doing.

didn't touch CW or flywheel.

i used plenty of grease on the pilot shaft...mission went on pretty easily.

mounts all looked to be in good shape as well...

i took off the lower inspection plate and made sure all my PP bolts were tight, indeed they were.

a small chance of the pressure plate damper springs being broken. not the springs that look like springs but they look like metal straps in between the stamped cover and the friction plate. it's basically the part that connects the diaphragm spring to friction surface. i only saw it one time on a supra, basically the same described symptom. certain rpm's only. if you can't find anything else then you will probably have to pull the tranny again. the only way to check is to have the clutch dropped and see if theres play in the pressure plate.
