I shut my door for the last time today before walking into the mall and when I came out I found a wonderfull surprise!! my door handle wouldnt open the door so I just figured that it was busted so I walked around and tried to open it from the inside but that handle didnt work either so I just figured some linkage came loose inside so I got home and pulled the interior off the door as much as I could and looked inside nothing looked broken or unhooked the door just wont open. So I grabbed some plyers and grabbed onto that rod that would manually open the door and pulled up and down on it to see if it would pop the door open but it didnt do the trick. My only guess could be somthing with the latch is busted but I have no idea how to get my door open do any of you know any tricks or have had this happen before???? Thanks so much for listening

 

The spring holding the latch mechanism has come off. The rods will not work the latch now.

I got mine open by lowering the window and working the latch clip from the top. Very aggravating and tedious. Took ~ 2 hours

Did you lock the door when you closed it last? That happened to my passenger door. It turned out the lock actuator was busted. I got one from a junkyard and it did the trick.

As to how to get the door opened, I used a screwdriver to push down on a mechanism in the back of the door, very close to the window, I couldn't really explain exactly were. But try pressing down on some of the latches and linkages in the door. It eventually popped open for me after toying for about an hour.
