Very lean on fresh rebuild (searched)
Ok, so i have an '87 t2 with a fresh rebuild from rotary resurrection, with only 3k miles on it. Engine specs-13b-t with streetport, atkins 3mm apex seals, 550/750cc inj, walbro 255, rtek 1.7, 2.5" dp back to 3" catback, and everything else (air box, fan, etc) is stock. So heres my problem. The car was running lean under 10lbs of boost, low 13s-high 12s on the afr, so i bought a 255 thinking that was my problem. Same problem, nothings changed. I stay out of boost now to avoid blowing a fresh rebuilt motor. Im getting a stand alone when i get my tax returns back, but i dont want to wait to hit boost for that long. couldnt find anyone with similar problem, so if someone could give me some advice, or point me in the right direction it would greatly appreciate it.
Sort of a silly question, but are you ruining an air pump and split air pipe? My setup is identical to your own (minus the porting, and I'm S5), but I run an air pump and split air pipe. This makes my AFR look lean at times.

nope no air pump. and is there somewhere i can find someone has explained how to do that, because i am not a fan of wiring. im sure if someone explained it, i would be fine with it. thanks for the help guys. keep it coming
there's plenty of threads involving fuel pump rewiring on the forum already so i don't feel the need to type it all out and find pics of the diagrams. the rewire is the same for all series of 7 so a search will help you out in a few seconds. there is one on the 3rd gen forum 1st or 2nd-ish page.
here is the one i was referring to, diagram about 1/2 down the first page for ease of understanding using a generic 4-5 pin relay from any auto parts store:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...el+pump+rewire
the fuel pump wire to the pump is a larger gauge black wire with white tracer on the FCs.
if you need to do emissions testing you will have to wire the pump back to factory during the test, rewiring the pump basically overdrives it from what the factory initially intended for that circuit to provide.

fuel pump wiring is the first thing to check. I had a Supra pump that wasn't flowing enough fuel. Turns out some wiring was messed up and I think the fuel pump resistor might have failed. I rewired everything and it's been running great for years.

UPDATE: Got the car back yesteday. While at my buddies shop, he pointed out a few things that could possibly have been the problem. Fixed those, and got in the car to test it. At WOT i saw 12.5-12.6 some. So it went down a little, but still not where it needs to be. My buddy allen (rotarybeat) had the same setup but was runnin 11s. I need help!
