vert top won't go down
Before I go in and completely check all of the wiring I wanted to see if anyone else had a common problem and maybe an easy solution. I have an S5 vert and the top is now stuck up. Yesterday I was able to put the top down with the button in the center console, then later i put it up, no problems. When i went to put it back down it will not move. There is no beeping (like there usually is) and the battery voltage does not drop slightly (like there usually is). If i press the button to put the top up it still beeps and drains the battery.
I have checked the 30 amp fuse and its still good. I tried removing the switch in the console and hardwiring it, with no luck.
Are there two separate relays for making the top go up or down? Anything separate between the two operations?
Thanks in advance.

Not that this is a solution, but I have the same problem and I carry a jumper wire and just pull the switch and unplug the connection and jump the wires to put up and down sometimes. There are only three wires to the switch in the center console.
It sounds to me like it may just be a bad switch if it beeps one way but not the other. It wouldn't beep either way if the problem was with the neutral switch or the brake switch.
Just my guess.

Beep thanks. I was trying to jump the wires to try this but couldnt get it to work either. Could you happen to tell me which color wires you jump together to get it to go down. I could jump the wires and it would beep and try to go up, but not down.
I know there is a red, green, and black wire on the car side of the harness.

I could get the FSM and look when I get home, but there are only three wires, so there are only three possibilities: up, down, or nothing.
If in doing this you get the beeping and going up from one of the combinations, and nothing from the other two...well, I would be stumped.
Try again and make sure. It takes me longer to pop the center piece and unplug the switch than it does to jump all three positions. And again, this is just a temporary fix.
Let us know what happens.

yeah i tried all possibilities and one combination got the beeping (which im pretty sure its trying to go up) and the other possibilities got me nothing. i will take a look at voltages and such later.
do you happen to know if there is anything separate in the wiring for up versus down?
