Is the vert subframe different than the coupes?

I bought Mazdaspeed mounts for the vert towards the TII swap , go to put them in , nope no can do.

They were supposed to just pop in the hole instead of screw in like the stock ones do but they are wider in diameter than the stock ones.

The thing is I bought the same mounts for my friends TII and they fit fine.

So the question is are the front subframes different between the vert and the coupe ?

Yes the front subframe is radically different between a coupe a vert.

The vert one is beefier and has added bracing and a bar across the back

Acording to Maztrix they are different, however, the competition mount is the same for all:

86-92 Left or Right All not Convertible 39-040A-FB01
88-92 Left or Right Convertible 39-040A-FB67
86-92 All Competition Left or Right Competition (stiff) 39-0400-FBY1

Hmm , thats weird I know that the vert is beefier thus the increased stiffness, I never though the holes where the mounts would sit would be smaller though.

I actually have the stiffer Mazdaspeed Mounts that I bought from Corksport and like I said no way in hell were they going to fit.

Can anyone confirm that the motor mount holes on either of the subframes are different from each other. The mounts I got this time looked exactly like the ones we used for the TII, but it is a possiblity I got the wrong thing I guess.
