I'm giving away some vert seats for some help diagnosing the problem with my car. the driver side seat is a little worn but not torn and the passenger seat is in great condition (Needa get rid of them anyways) . So the problem with my car is that when it hits 4k in 2nd gear it bogs down into limp mode or something but can free rev in neutral. The diagnose told me that it was an OMP problem but I want someone to come confirm and give me some kind of suggestion on how I can fix it.
He might be asking because he may know someone who can help. What CITY do you live in? The Bay Area is a big place. Don't worry we won't stalk you or your seats.
Your mechanic seems to be on the right track though. A bad OMP will definitely send your car into limp mode. If you're still able to drive it, 1st things 1st, I'd premix some 2-stroke oil into the gas. Do it now! Make sure the 2-stroke stuff says TC-W3 on it and put about 1oz to each gallon of gas. If your OMP is dead and you're running the car, you need to premix or zoom zoom boom.
EDIT: Another thing that has me thinking is that 4k RPM number. 4k is when the 5th and 6th ports are supposed to open up in an N/A. I don't think it would limp mode you, but they do make a big difference if they get stuck shut...which is pretty often.
I live in Alameda, right by Oakland. I have 0 knowledge when it comes to fixing cars and afraid to do it myself until I see how it's done because I do not want to make things worse.
