vert rear strut tower sar ???????
vert rear strut tower sar ???????
ok so ive searched the archives and faqs and havnt found an answre so my question is why wont a rear strut tower bar for a coupe work on a vert ? if it is just a matter of cutting plastic i dont have a problem wit that . i recently put on tanabe front and very impressed with the diff. now want one for the rear .
since u'll probably be spending $200 for that little strut bar, why not shell out another 200 for a roll bar, it'll perform the same and more
the roll bar should cost u no more than $500 said and done.
i truely hope u never get into a roll over but if u do you'll thank urself later

Different mounts on a vert than a coupe. As I recall the Coupes use 4 bolt mounts, while vert rear struts only use 2 bolt mounts. I could be wrong... but regardless:
But a rear strut bar is pretty useless on a vert anyway. If you actually took the rear interior plastic out and looked you would be able to tell why (they are already supported by the frame design of the vert body anyway).
It is sort of like the front crossmember for the coupes... the verts already have a factory rear section for the crossmember.

cool, but still there is zero point using a rear strut bar on a vert. The cars structure is already better than any sort of bolt in bar (that is not going to add even one iota of extra strength unless it is a welded bar without pivots.
thanks for the input. since u mentiond it , i was compairing the 88 coupe parts car to some pic of my vert before the fiberglass work and i agree the rear of the vert is substansionaly more rigid and have scraped the idea . but now a roll bar , i like that idea . does anyone make a prefabbed kit ????

Vert Roll Bar, bolt in. http://www.kirkracing.com/bolt-in_roll_cage.htm
I'm wanting one, but want to sit in a Vert with one installed to be sure the seat will still move back far enough for my height.
