Venting a stock hood...
I am thinking of venting my stock steel hood. Underneath the hood there hood there are sections that arent braced. I plan on cutting the front triangular piece and 2 side sections on the passenger side. The days here in Florida lately are in the 100's which are normal. I am running the taurus fan on high and still seeing high temps on the laptop via the Microtec.Would this help alleviate some of the heating issues? Any opinions? Thanks!
Getting a proper aluminum radiator will DRASTICALLY help keep temperatures down. The stock radiator is the Achille's heel of the FC's cooling system.
I know all about venting the stock hood. It works for v-mounts, but the stock radiator location wouldn't gain much from it. All the hot air escapes easily through the transmission tunnel. You just need more heat transfer surface area, i.e. the aluminum radiator.

This vent is only for the intercooler. Once I get some more time I'm going to cut this vent in half to get a lower profile. I'm hoping it will still provide the same cooling effect.

I have an aftermarket carbon fiber hood on the S4 turbovert, and it is a bit lower profile, but also a wider than stock. So all in the area of the scoops mouth is essentaily maintained. Size of the air catching mouth is something you should for sure consider before you take a saw to your hood.

I was just thinking of cutting where there's no bracing for the hot air to escape. I also need to wrap my downpipe. I am seeing high temps in the low 200's. Will my temps drop with the koyo n flow? I want to drive my car. I was hoping the evo vent would drop the temps at least 10-15*
To the best of my knowledge, yes it will help. [Thus far I've only had to maintain my NAs.. Which run cool enough that they can be almost too cold with a good stock system.. Though I can NOT see how an N-Flow would NOT help..]
Looks like your radiator is due for replacement anyway <_<
Also, how's your ducting? Do you have the factory plastic undertray? Do you run water wetter [or equiv.]?
You REALLY should NOT cut up your hood... If people can cool a 20B without cutting it up, you can handle a 13B

Digitalsolo vented his hood using Lumina Z34 vents...

I really like the concept/execution but he did it to lower underhood temp at slow speed and stop, not to aid in highway cooling. Apparently, it's quite effective.
He inspired me to go junkyarding where I found some vents from a Nissan Z car that looked interesting and soon I'll have a spare steel hood to experiment on, so we'll see what happens.
I'd upgrade your radiator before doing anything more radical and permanent...it's a proven fix that may solve your problem completely.
