variable resistor

variable resistor

okay guys my variable resistor is mounted right next to the air filter nad its blown to **** and i have no idea what it does can anybody fill me in on this.?all i know is the mazda corp. wants me to pay 165 for it.

It controls idle mixtures. Go to a wrecker and get a replacement.

yah, until you replace it you can just unscrew it from the bracket it sits on and unplug it from underneath... That's what I did and I was told the ECU would go back to some default setting.

It'll go to a default setting. If your car idles just fine as it is.....then save yourself some bucks.

And Mr NZ......what does your post *DP* mean? That could stand for Donner Pass or Down pipe, or dog **** or ????????? OH! Double Post. Oh well.
