Vaccume valves to electronic?

I bought my first 7 a cpl weeks ago. 86 gxl. excellent condition, the only problem im having is, and this is only what i have been told, my 5th and 6th valves arent opening, or opening but not completly, causing me to lose, again only what ive been told, about 30hp between 3-7 rpm. Im a newb when it comes to all this jazz. The guy i bought the car from told me i could convert the vaccum powered valves to electronic ones. The car has a new exhaust from headers back w/o cat convertors, he mentions somehting about how the vaccume power comes from the cat, which is no longer in existance, so he cobbed something up that aparently works. if anyone could send me a link or explain in newb terms what i could do i would appreciate it.

Familiarize yourself with the auxiliary intake system in the training manual, "Fuel and Emissions" page 4-15: http://208.62.166.66:82/guest/shop_m...aining_manual/

The ports can still work without modification without cats, like certain RacingBeat systems. The usual electric modification can be found here: http://howto.globalvicinity.com/gv_w...i=48&co=1&vi=1
(that's Sideways7's work in progress).

ok i will check that out. thanks. i have been thinking about doing a motor swap. i thought it would be sick to drop a 350 in there or something but it is very cheap to get a jdm turboII i see so who knows what will happen with the car. but i would like to get the most out of it now while i can, i seems to not pull very hard in the higher rpms.

Huh, it works for me. Try right clicking, and "save target as" - then run it from you hard drive. Sometimes the acrobat plug-in chokes.
