V-mount in FC..

I have posted a thread about this on Ausrotary.com, but unfortunately.. no one really can give me sufficient info for a v-mount setup.
What im after is how people have set theirs up..
eg, what material used [angles, mild steel? etc], what angle the radiator sits at, and what sort of brackets do I have to fabricate?
Ive been searching the internet but cant find any "Step by step" sort of guides about how to set one up. I understand that the i/c sits practically parallel with the bonnet, and the radiator sits below it on an angle (what this angle is.. i have no idea)
Any help will be much appreciated.. Im pretty desperate for help because I am ripping all my stuff out tomorrow..

I don't think there is a specific measurement considering you can get all different core sizes.

I was talking about how I needed a local LS powered FC so we can do thorough testing of the LS vs. TII BS.
The V8-swap guys are so defensive about their swaps that there is no way to get a real, straight answer to my dumb questions so I need a local that isn't a douche to help me. Every car has Pros and Cons and I've heard all the PROS of the swap but none of the CONS and you'll help me figure out if there ARE NO CONS as teh V8 ppl swear, or if they are full of crap.

Isn't blueTII setup sweet!!!
I've seen it and his v-mount is nice. I also like the fact that he doesn't have a vented hood.
OP look at that setup and go that route.

Nice setup. Would you ever do the REW swap again? or are you one of the crazy ppl that add a second turbo to the 13BT? You post very specific pics and it makes it hard to see if it's an REW block or just the manifolds or if you added a turbo. Sneaky.

Actually its a 13B-RE with the REW twins on the side. Do it again Dunno, ask me after she's tuned, if it's 75% of what I expect the answer will be a resounding HELLS YEAH! When all is said and done I expect 12PSI ~2ishk and 18 PSI after transition and >400RWP - this is post BNR upgrade though. Pre I expect 12PSI ~2ishk and 14-14.5 PSI after transition & 375 RWHP. It should make for one pissed off little FC on the streets.

Sorry guy in Oz that started the post, seems like the internetans have hijacked the thread somewhat.
In terms of $$$, I hope you can weld aluminum. Otherwise, moving radiator necks and making brackets gets pricey.
Personal experience helping out with a few FD vmounts and a Miata Vmount - it's all gonna be custom. Rig a rad template out of a cardboard box (we used a few Fedex 11"x17"x3" boxes, YMMV) and see where you can get what size to fit. Width between frame rails is the important measurement. Then look for that size rad in your local racing parts supplier (we used Summit Racing, but look local). $150 instead of the $400 koyo. You may need to cut off, plug, and re-weld one of the inlets. Then figure out where the IC needs to be (mostly flat in the FDs, in the Miata there was a noticeable down tilt) and tin off the holes on the sides. Usually you can connect to the IC with just piping and some silicone couplers. Make sure to leave a hole for the air filter to poke through the side.
For the FDs we did 1 with a kit being sold through the forum (I won't name names) but we had to re-engineer 90% of it. We went totally custom for the 2nd FD and that worked out much nicer (and cheaper). The miata was of course a 1-off - hard enough to shoehorn an intercooler in there; the Vmount made it possible. He runs 8-10 PSI in the miata and doesn't even see a temp increase under boost (on gauge or ECU).
I will be doing this, more than likely, on my FC coupe when I get to that point. I already am pretty sure some frame supports will have to be removed, re-engineered, and welded back in. It's not terribly hard, but you will spend some days on your back under the car looking up and saying "hmmmmm".
Disclaimer: My friend has a Tig welder, so welding AL is no big deal. That was 90% of the tools used, other than standard hand tools.
