Using stock sender units?

Hi,
Im installing a few new gauges and i got a couple of questions that i havnt been able to find the answers for yet. ( have searched )

1: where should i take the feed for my narrow band? should i tap into the wire in the engine bay or find it at the ECU and if so what wire is it ?

2: what is the thread of the stock water temp sender ( on the side of block by oil pressure sender )? If its working fine then shall i just tap into this wire and use the original sender? and if so should i tap into in the eng bay or will i be able to find it behind the dash with out to much greif?

3: Is there any oil temp sender on the block? or is there any blanking plug where i can fit a sender unit into?

cheers guys

nath.

Tap into the wires at the ECU. You can get power, signal and ground there.

I can't remember the exact size, but most aftermarket senders are much bigger than the small stock one so they can't be used in the stock location. You shouldn't use an adaptor because this moves the sensor out of the coolant flow. Many people drill and tap a hole in the water pump. Here's what I did for mine:

No, you have to use the sensor that comes with the gauge or the gauge will read wrong.

Is there any oil temp sender on the block?
Nope. The best way is to get a sensor mounting block to install under the oil filter like these:

Some gauges come with a sensor that replaces the sump plug.
