Used Limited Slip Diff

hey guys, i came across a good deal on a used limited slip differential...and i had a quick question.

if the LSD is from a 1990 5-lug RX7, will it fit into my 1986 4-Lug Base model?

It will fit, but not bolt in with no problems unless the 90 diff is from the very very rare 90 GTUs model, which there were only 100 or so made.

Only the Turbo and the GTUs (note the small "s") came with a LSD in 89 thru 91. Using a Turbo diff would require you to use the Turbo halfshafts, and either the Turbo drive shaft/tranny/flywheel/clutch slave or a custom made drive shaft.

Nope, only the 86-88 GXL.

The S5 got short changed on a bunch of stuff, that is why I can't quite figure out why they are so much more popular than the S4 cars.

I can only figure that most people prefer the cushier ride and don't miss things like the LSD or vehicle speed sensing power steering.

what about the actual internals...not the rear-end...but the actual internal part of the LSD, anyway i could use that on my stock N/A rear-end? basically what im wanting to know is....i have the internals of a limited slip, and is there anyway i can put it to use, or should i just get the 5-lug conversion from a TII?

Well the T2 diff is a different size internally than a NA one. I don't think a T2 LSD diff would fit into a NA housing.
