Mazdatrix for gaskets OR use RTV. Just curious what is a "J-spec racing motor"?

You can use RTV in place of a gasket, but it makes removal in the future a real bitch! I use a gasket and a very light application of RTV on both sides. Helps seal the connection and future removal is not that hard.

I am an all out RTV'r. This is mostly because I HATE scraping old bonded on gaskets.
Follow the directions: thin coat on both sides, let it start to cure, then assemble.
I’ve never had a problem with leaks or later disassembly.
The main trick is having smooth, flat facing surfaces.
