is it even possible to put an engine mount in upside down?

im diagnosing a weird clunk/shake in my bay and I noticed that the drivers side mount upside down! at least compared to any rx7 engine mount IVE ever seen. the top of the metal "cup" is lying against the subframe.

man I wish I could get a hold of the person that put this motor in..

 

Yes.
There is a dimple that's supposed to be used on top that locks the engine mount into position.
