upper radiator hose?

ok I've done just about everything I can think of to fix my cooling problems. I've replaced everything except the pump and radiator. I've done a couple flushes now, and still run warm. does the thermostat start opening at 180 degrees? or should it be all the way open at that temp? my problem now is that the upper hose is colapsing when I throttle my engine. (like the pump is sucking (creating a vaccuum and colapsing the upper hose) and the thermostat won't open enough). what could cause this? I'm soo confused now... this is the third thermostat I've gotten from mazda and it's different each time... does anyone have a part number? please help me... oh yeah I've been searching for the past two weeks now.

the flow through the pump is up.
out the top hose and in the bottom hose.
if you are seeing the top hose collapsing i would guess
that you have not gotten all the air out of the cooling
system.
Also pressure check the system including the caps.

as the motor starts to warm up pressure should start to
build in the system, and hoses should start to feel
firm, if you squeeze the top hose and it feels as soft
hot as when it is cold it isn't building any pressure.

make sure when you are filling the system to loosen
the bleed screw on the rad to let the air out of that area.
its next to where the top hose goes on.

the stat starts to open at 180 and will continue to
open as long at the temp is 180 or more.
I always check the stats in a pot of water on the
stove, you want to make sure it is opening when it
is supposed to and opening all the way.
i just changed out a stat that would start to open at
180 but wouldn't open all the way.

cant think of anything else.

well I tested the stat in a pot of water, and it barely starts to open at 180 degrees, but I'm also not sure how far it's supposed to open up to. does the top of your stat have three or two prongs? I've got one with two and one with three. the one with two fits in the housing correctly (jiggle pin up) the one with three has to sit at a slight angle. the same one has a larger hole than the first (with two prongs), which one is right? I'm still lost. I must have air in there cause it doesn't build as much pressure as before. anyways thanks for your help. and any suggestions. I appreciate it.
