I have had 4 first gen. 7's and now I am thinking to go with a turbo 2 or convertable. What things should I look for to make sure I don't have a problem car?
eg. With first gens. the bins rust out, anything like that with second gens?
I am in canada so a good convertable is really hard to find not many in this country. I will probably have to bring one in from the states.

Not too much of rust issues...unless you consider the hatch and sunroofs of the 86-88s. Then there's the typical wheel well rust in vehicles driven in the winter.
Problems to look for?
Smoking exhaust.
High idle. (sometimes used to mask problems)
Low compression.
I'd recommend the TII. I made the move from a 83 GSL to a 91 TII and haven't ever had the thought of regretting the decision!
