The high rev detonation I've heard made a rattling sound.

I have heard low rev single pings as the knock sensor pulled the timing before the detonation could continue.
The S5 knock sensor works fairly well below 4K.

My guess for Archangel's engine is pre-ignition.

Either way, he's on it.

i do care about my engine, thats why i never push my car hard, i drive it gingerly around for now, it's being parked in a week or so....

the only reason i had it on the dyno to make this noise once and to see if it was fuel related, or what was going on all together....

i did make 2 good pulls with no noise aswell....

BTW, the timing is dead on with the primaries while the trailing coils are retarded a few degree's....

if the compressoer blad was hitting the housing.. wouldn't the sounds be much "closer" together it almost sounds like something is "bouncing"

Well he said it doesn't happen all the time, which makes me think it's random. If it is possible that it can spin sometimes without hitting it at all then it's possible it can hit it, miss a couple times, then hit it again.

Well - I found mine.

Worn out plug wires measured 18K & 22K ohms. New ones were 8K.

Not only was I getting a high RPM miss, but it was upsetting things enough to give a random knock.
