Uneven Exhaust Flow...
Uneven Exhaust Flow...
Check this out, the exhaust pressure from the right side stock muffler seems to be stronger and hotter than the other side. Is it from poor y-pipe design or is it the driver side muffler that's messed up (one would think that mufflers flows more with age, no?)
check your exhaust piping and mufflers...a friend of mine bought an 89 GXL with original exhaust on it that was shot full of rusty holes....also his cats were goners :P
no cats and new exhaust made a world of difference in his car

The "Y" pipe design isn't that restrictive to cause that much of a diversion to the right muffler. Take a rag, while car at idle, and place over right tailpipe. See if left flows ok, or there is a restriction. if ok don't worry about it.
acctually.. and i've heard this a few times. when i am driving around with my buddies and i floor it on the highway or street. they say that whenever i shoot flames, one side is always a little larger. i really have no way of explaining it. I have a bonez race pipe with borla car back exhaust (no cats)
I think it's the angle of the y-pipe in conjuntion with the pipe its connected too. Cause everytime i shoot flames it's from my passengerside... (i get flames from both);(but passenget is more)
I never really worried about it... figure i'll just get my header with tru dual mufflers and be done with it.
