Most likely nothing broke.
You have water in there. It's probably condensation. If this happens a lot, then you should change your oil earlier (and then you'd measure oil changes by months not by miles) to prevent rust. That won't stop the condensation, it'll just replace the rust protectant. To stop condensation, you drive more/longer and boil it off.
It could also be water from your cooling system, from bad coolant seals (requires engine rebuild for a couple thousand dollars). But then you'd see it in other places too, and you'd have all kinds of cooling problems. Watch out for the ***** who are gonna tell you that your engine is blown, unless you see evidence of a greater problem.
