I broke one of the four bolts on the strut towers. I was going to torque them after I took off my strut tower brace, so I started to tighten to 26 ft.lbs.
It seemed way too much for 26, and then it broke.
I was confused. I looked at the torque wrench and it was set at 46ft.lbs. oh crap. I'm an idiot.
so what should I do now? can I drive it like this?
I put a bolt on what was left but it only held like 5 ft.lbs.

go to a hardware store and get yourself a set of back-outs for your electric drill. Use a real drill bit to drill the center out of the remaining shank, use a hammer to set the correct sized back-out, tighten the chuck on your drill, and back the bolt out for replacement.
