Search. Failure or a front or rear U joint requires an entire drive shaft. OEM U joints are not replaceable.

As you search you will find reference to where you can buy after market U joints.

Do a search for rebuilding the non rebuildable u joint. There was a write up last fall including the part number for the rockford u joint that you need. I was going to do this but dad(the one that dynomited my u joint) found a driveshaft at the wreckers for cheap.

Replacement of the factory u joint can be done, but in my opinion your better off getting an used one or get a new shaft from Mazdatrix. Although you will be able to buy a joint that will fit, there is no grove for "c" clips to hold the caps in place, plus you need to drill/grind the factory shaft to get the old one out. Some will even tack weld the new joint, but to me, if the car is street driven, a balance problem could occur.

I destroyed one of my U-joints about a year ago. Usually you just replace the whole driveshaft with an aftermarket shaft that has changable u-joints. Mine ran me a little over $300.
