What's wrong with the stock ones? They're going to look better than any aftermarket ones because they're the only ones designed to go there.

You realise that does nothing for cooling right? Just because the drifters do it, doesn't mean it works...

Does anyone have pictures of the stock fog lights and a link where to get them?

Also about the swastika, you're close about that Martha, but the swastika did stand for anti-jewish. It's when you flip it around that it means peace. Many people get these 2 things confused because they don't know where the symbol should be spinning.

I don't have a pic right now but I am takin pics hopefully tomorrow if you don't see them by then... where to get them... try a scrapyard... I'm sure the stealership wants way too much... i need the power window switch for the driver side... I can't find any in any scrapyard up here (Barrie, ON) and mazda want $175... although I did find a Mazda-only scrapyard in GA so I'll hit that up when I get down there next which should be next year depending on how long my paperwork takes....

On my S5 (1990), doesn't matter if the fog light switch is on or off, as soon as you release the hand break they come on. i assumed all S5s did this to act as daytime driving lights. If the fog light switch is off, when you turn the headlights on they shutoff, they stay on if the switch is on though.

It must only be on Canadian models.

I found this on wikipedia:

"Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requires DRLs on all new vehicles made or imported after January 1, 1990"

But anyways, I think the stock fog lights look the best.

People shim the rear of the hood thinking it will increase airflow through the engine bay by creating an opening for the air to travel. But the base of the windshield is a high pressure zone and air travels into the engine bay through the opening disrupting the airflow. Mazda put a seal on the cowl for a reason. Muscle cars use a cowl hood so air will travel through this opening and into the engine not for cooling. I have one on my nova.

yeah tis been discussed it doesnt do anything or whatever.

but at idle at a stop with the fan kicked on after a run around it blows a lot of hot air out of there. and im too lazy to undo it so.

yellow fogs rock, and lee i like the rising sun hood. good stuff.
has anyone painted their s5 fogs so they are yellow? i know tamiya makes translucent paint. i've used their orange for sidemarkers and turnsignals before.
was kind of debating wether or not to paint my fogs yellow with some or to just find yellow bulbs

About the s5 fogs... I took mine apart today so that I could replace the bulb.... I can't find a matching bulb anywhere... numerous places have a similar, if not same bulb but the stock bulb has a 2 pin connector at the back and every bulb I can find at numerous shops have a single pin on a rope-style connection... I am forced to call the stealership, but hafta do it 2moro cuz it's sunday.... I will post back when I get the mazda price as opposed to the $6 bulb anywhere else

How is that an advantage? If the hood wasn't raised the air would simply exit under the car instead.

It wasn't bashed for trying to help him. If you stick up a photo of your car, people will comment on it (and that car had it comin'... ). The topic is irrelevant; that's just how forums work. Get used to it or...

You are reading the pressure gradiant wrong.

That is actually an area of low or even negative pressure.

What happens when one changes the profile of the hood is anyones guess. It probably makes it an area of pos pressure lol.

That car in the pic from the OP is for sale. I think the foglights are PIAA or CATZ... either way, both are good.

the stock fog light bulbs are h3c and for some reason the only place I have found them is online. It'll cost you about 20bucks for a cheap pair. All the stores I went to only had the h3 bulbs and they don't work, so you gotta find a set of h3c bulbs on ebay or something
