I have a TII and want a quiet exhaust, I'm wondering what 2 of these would do for the RX7. The inlet is 2.5 and out is 3".

Not the most efficient way of quieting the exhaust...

Would these be two small mufflers? If so, I wouldn't recommend them. The key thing you need is a large cannister like the racing beat or the borla mufflers. If you want it quiet spend the extra money for a racing beat catback if not the entire turbo back system they sell.

We'll....from what I read on reviews, they are really quit. They simulate a longer canister by looping it back through twice. They state is flows like a straight trough, but its only effective with a resonator in place. I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard or used this type of setup.

I cant afford racing beat...sigh

I don't know about the twinloop thing, or those crappy octa mufflers, but..
I was given the full tour of Mazdatrix a couple of months ago, & they had the exhaust set up on their 90 eprep vert with a 180 bend & two mufflers, for noise controll.

Here's the the video I took,.. the part i'm talking about is at the end when we were looking under the gold TII & then under the eprep vert, the owner says he dyno'd it several different ways and actually got more horse power with the 180 degree setup.

http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=Rotary-RX-7-REPU

There's also some other good footage of rotary's around irvine..
I guess I should share this in the video & media section too.

id recomend the full racing beat system. its actually very quite, probably the most quiet high flowing/performance system ive seen. and price is very reasonable

If the RB is too expensive for you, Id reccomend the Borla.

And you believe that? It's got two tight 180deg bends! It's literally tying a knot in the exhaust. These mufflers are just another gimmick design to attract kids who think if it looks different it must be better.

If you want a multipass muffler, go buy one of the old triple-flow "turbo" mufflers. Not only will it probably be a lot cheaper, the flow will be similar and the silencing better, because all three passes are within the muffler body instead on leaving one hanging outside doing nothing. It won't impress the riceboys though...

The first time I saw that design, it was from Mugen.
Mugen made some funky muffler for Hondas a few years ago that looked like that.
It breaks all conventions on what a good performance muffler should be.

Best exhaust - no exhaust.
Next best exhaust - straight pipe.
Next best exhaust next to straight pipe - something that LOOKS like a straight pipe.

I like mine. I've got the RB header/presilencer to a TII y-pipe with the Borlas at the end. Just a bit of resonance at 3K but over/under that its fine.
