Angry Turns over but will not start....

87' TII, unkown miles on rebuilt motor.

Push starting works every time, but she will not start on her own .

I initially thought it was flooded so I tried cranking w/ the spark plugs out (and egi pulled) only the plugs weren't wet and noting came out of the holes.

Then I thought, maybe bad plugs?, so I swapped them out and it cured the problem for a day. Next morning she wouldn't start. Thats when I decided to try push starting.

It ran, but not well, so I searched for vac leaks, and found that the hose for the oil injectors had slipped off the back of the UIM. Replaced it and it ran fine, started on its own while hot, so I figured the problem was solved.

Next morning, wouldn't start. So I figured, perhaps the oil injectors hadn't been working for a while and all the oil had been wiped/burned off the rotors/housings. Put a little gear oil in each housing and she cranked right up.

Drove around all day, w/ no problems figuring the oil injectors would have had an opportunity to come online and do their thing but.......Next morning, wouldnt start, just turns over and over.

There has to be a simple solution I'm missing here

I listened to the pulses when I was attempting to de-flood it and they are even, but I don't have my compression tester w/ me atm.

How long does it usually take to prime (or re-prime) oil injectors?
Would running pre-mix help compression?

I have HEARD that it takes 5 mins of idle to prime oil injectors but I have zero (0) (nadda) (don't quote me on this) experiance with it.

Unknown miles on rebuild is good or bad, fresh rebuilds are usually very hard to start if new apex seals are used on used housings.

A compression tester will tell you a lot more, but I would test it every so often to see if the compression stays low or gets higher over time.

Well I ran it all day after replacing that vac hose so that doesn't bode well

By unknown I mean I've put 18k on it myself so its not on break in.

Last time I checked compression it was 94 on the front and 90 rear. But it has come close to overheating once since then. But. That was a few weeks ago.
