Turn signal and few other electrical issues
Hey all,
I have a 87 S4 Turbo2 FC, and I am having problem with turn signals and hazard lights. It also has a kill switch custom wired directly to the fuel pump. And the radio is gone but wires are intact. Also AC was removed. It had problem revving past 3800rpm if I gun it, but the problem went away after I disconnect the pressure sensor. (Which indicates that the pressure sensor might be picking up too much pressure from exhaust and cause ecu to make engine not run right.)This is the condition of the car when I got it.
First of all
Turn signal doesn't work when you turn them on and the the turn signal lights in instrument panel doesn't work too, however you can hear the clicking sound of turn signal when you turn on the turn signal switch.
Second,
Hazard light does not respond at all when I push the button. No sound clicking.
Third,
Door light that's located on the bottom right of both passenger and driver side door doesn't work when you open the door.
Fourth,
Horn is disconnected and I could not find any wire near horn that can connect it back on. I need help locating the horn wire in engine bay.
Fifth,
The power lock does not work, when I lock the car on driver side, the passenger side door does not lock. Although all of their wires are connected (checked it today and see no wire damage or disconnected.)
Inspection :
The interior light works. AC control works. Hatch light works. Reverse light works, Tail lights and brake light works. Headlight works. Both front and rear wiper switch works.
When I turn the key to ON position, the engine electric fan starts to turn, and the clock turns on, some of the indication lights works such as "hatch open", "washer"
But the "Door open" signal light doesn't turn on in the idiot light panel (where the clock with bunch of warning light is) when the door is open.
When I turn the key to ON position, the boost gauge jumps up to about 3/4 of the height in the instrument panel. And the fuel gauge starts to move up. But the oil pressure gauge does not work however(even when the car is running).
When I turn the key to ON position, the instrument panel lights up when I turn the light on as well as the lights in AC control and cigarette lighter. Cigarette lighter works as well.
The security light will start to blink whenever I open my hatch or engine bay, but will not light up when I stand outside of the car and try to open the door lock through window.
This is about all I can think of from my observation and inspection. Please let me know if you need anymore information and I will get it asap.
And please help.
Thanks for your time

With respect to the hazards first thing to check is the 10 amp Hazard fuse. If the Black/Blue wire at the 7 wire CPU plug has voltage w/no key then the fuse is good. Also, there is a Light Green wire at the 7 wire plug at the CPU. If you supply a ground signal to this Light Green wire via a jumper wire then the flashers should flash if the Hazard fuse is good and the bulbs are good as well. If the ground is supplied to the proper wire and the bulbs are good to go in addition to the Hazard fuse then the likely problem is the CPU board or the terminal pins soldered to it are poor.
The door lights receive power from the Blue/Red wire and a ground from the Blue/White wire. Remove one of the lights and see if there is constant voltage on the Blue/Red wire. If it does then place a ground to the Blue/White wire at the door light and see if it lights up. If it doesn't then suspect the bulb. If the interior light above the rearview mirror doesn't light up w/the door open then suspect the door switch sensors which supplies a ground to the door lights.
