turn down the heat question...

This is the situation... I installed thermotec under all my carpet to keep my cabin cool, but now the heat is coming up through the shifter, where the boot is? is there anything i can do about about this? i figure i ask before i get creative about this... i think i might be missing something a plate or something that keeps the heat from coming inside. Does anyone have any comments? thanks...

I to get a lot of heat through there. I know I am missing a plate but that I dont think would be nearly enough to stop the heat. The whole transmission tunnel gets almost hot to the touch. I am not sure if its the transmission or the exhaust though.

there should be a heat shield Under the car to prevent the exhaust Heat from coming up through the floor. As far as the "shifter Heat" is concerned,Pop off the Shifter surround,Cut a Small piece of Thermotec, and put it around the Shifter Boot, and then replace the surround..make it so it doesn't interfere with shifting...DONE!

I'll try that and let see how it works... I'm going to see if that heat shield is there or not... It gets very unconfortable because when i'm driving the heat is coming and makes me sweat even more....
