Unhappy turboxs mbc question,about gauge?

I was wondering if any of U that have used a turboxs mbc w/the stock gauge in an 88t2 or did U have to install a aftermarket boost gauge to get a good reading for up to 12psi. Please help.
THANX, in advance.

Do you have any other modifications? Im a firm believer that guages should be your first mod.

yep!

I have a 2.5dp ,mp,catback system. I have RB fcd, apex race filter intake kit, turboxs typeS bov. crane hi 6 ignition. My ques. is can I use my stock gauge or do I have to install another. And should I "T" in at the side of the bov that goes into upper intake for the best reading.
thanx, TONY

Many, many people her will agree with me, the stock guage is a useless piece of ****. After many reccomondations, I T'd mine in the pressure sensor line.

you MUST MUST MUST MUST buy an aftermarket gauge.... should have been the first thing you bought. the stock one will never go past 8psi with the FCD installed. even if you are way past.

Looking at the wiring diagram it seems that the factory boost gauge is tapped into the pressure sensor's line to the engine computer. I was thinking the following:

Have one of these indiglo gauge guys make a stock looking boost gauge but scale it in PSI starting with 0 PSI where the stock gauge currently reads vacuum

Now disconnect the factory gauge from the harness and connect it to another pressure sensor. With a little signal conditioning (voltage comparitor ckt) we could have the factory gauge showing us boost to say 15psi over a sweep of 90 degrees (no longer shows vacuum).

Doesn't seem too tuff, does it?

I believe 1 bar is just about exactly 14.7psi. So figure it out from there. Or do a search, cause people talked about it before.
