TurboII swap into B2200, trailing coil to ignitor wiring help needed.
Hi,
Apparently five different people have worked on this truck and not accomplished anything worthy of note. Somewhere along the line the owner was informed that the stock ECU for his stock swap wouldn't run the engine and he needed to buy a Haltech. Somewhere along the line someone decided to bypass the trailing ignitor and drive the trailing coils directly with the Haltech, probably damaging the coil drivers. Everywhere I look I find wiring diagrams dealing with "trailing coil with ignitor" as a single assembly, but I can't find how the ignitor connects to the coils themselves.
Here's what I am dealing with, can anyone assist in where the stock ignitor wires are supposed to go?
Any help is appreciated, and FWIW:
B2200 truck
Stock 88-89 TurboII engine
Haltech E6X
Basketcase
Thanks!

Alright, I'm not certain if the coils are wired correctly or not. I'm getting spark on the rear trailing plug, and the front trailing plug sparks when ignition power is applied but not when cranking. The leading coils never spark, but the primaries are never energized so IDK.
Does anyone have a decent circuit schematic of the ignitor's internals?

goto haltech's website and download the manual. you should be able to wire the to the stock coils connectors and be good to go.
try to hit up a junkyard and get a unmolested coil.

The install manuals out there aren't correct. https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...6&postcount=15
I found what I needed late last night: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...9&postcount=11
I already have things wired up this way, but as stated above what does and doesn't work is completely screwed up and it may be old parts or it may be damage to the Haltech. I need to get my scope on Ign1, Ign2, and Aux Out and check for 0-5v square waves, but that's going to have to wait until I've had at least two more cups of coffee.
Some of you rotory guys are hardcore and make a point of throwing your all of knowledge out there, which is very cool. I had to wade through quite a lot of stuff to find the information I was looking for, but some of the wading was of a high order - just not what I was looking for. I know it's mostly because these cars are somewhat rare, but that just means that the sort of people who like these cars can choke down their egos and be part of a community stick around these parts. It reminds me a lot of the Porsche community, where production runs are so small that the only way anyone gets anything figured out is by talking to everybody from the high end race teams to the owner who does his own mechanical work. Only a little more affordable to get into, LOL.
