this turbo vs that turbo... opinions prease

S5 tii Running a pineapple race ported intake/exhaust. 3" do back exhaust, adaptronic ecu, 750/1300 injectors

The two turbos I'm thinking of are either a t04b 60 trim cold / .1 ar hot

Or a 70trim cold /.86ar hot turbo

Both t4 of course.

Want a fast spooling turbo, and my HP goal is simple at 300-320hp. And top end isn't as important as midrange, as the car is built to drift.

Anyone have personal experience with these sized turbos?

Dont know about the spool but what I can say is the 60trim should be enough for your 320 whp goal.

Wondering at what psi the 60 trim would break 300 though. Thinking around 14-15, where the 7086 could probably do it at 10.. But those are just guestimates.. Hoping someone can chime in with experience

You need to list wheel sizes, especially for old t series turbos.

1.0 a/r could be on an O trim, and .86 could be on a P trim. Also saying trim sizes give us no idea what size compressor you have...

I think you are saying .60 compressor a/r, and .70 compressor a/r, which gain just designates the compressor cover size, many many wheels fit in each one....

TO4B (not even real sure how accurate that fits, since it's just a chine turbo, and I know they like to call turbos by random names)

Intake: 3 inch
Inlet: 2 inch
Compressor trim: .60ar
Compressor Wheel diameter: 53.90 /69.31
Turbine Wheel diameter: 63.98 /73.89
Exhaust Trim: .96ar
Turbine flange type:T4 flange
Down pipe flange type: 3 inch v band

An example of something else I'd run:

Intake: 4 inch
Inlet: 2.5 inch
Compressor trim: .70ar
Compressor Wheel diameter: 70.12 / 94.00
Turbine Wheel diameter: 64.14 / 73.57
Exhaust Trim: .81 ar
Turbine flange type: T4 flange
Down pipe flange type: 3 inch v band

I know they're two totally different sized turbos, just wondering what the pros and cons of each would be, and what's a better choice for mid range power.. Looking for a quick spooling turbo, with power from 3500-6500

1st choice is a good 300rwhp turbo, should see 15 psi by 3400rpms at the latest. In reality should be 15psi by 2800rpms.

2nd turbo is 15 psi by 4500 to 5000.....
